Month One.

I can’t believe I’ve been in Haiti for a month! Like how did this even happen!? Time flies when you’re having fun, I suppose! Here’s a recap of January:

-flew solo!
-went to orphanages and held the cutest babies ever (and yes, I cried…a lot)
-Haitian kisses on cheeks–I am totally bringing this back with me!
-first casino experience
-visited 2010 Haiti earthquake memorial
-rum punch–fruity and deadly
-had some delicious food along the way! (pics to come)
-received a “Haiti phone” as a gift from a few of MANY incredible guests (way too kind and so unnecessary but I’m incredibly grateful)
-ate tons of great food (no need to worry about if I’m eating…I’m pretty certain these ladies are trying to fatten me up)
-started working on my (slowly building) tan
-introduced Haitians to peach cobbler
-went to Croix-des-Bouquets, a metalwork village (see above)

One month down, eleven months to go (sadly?)!
